The electric locomotives of series 1000 of the Dutch State Railways are based on the SBB Ae 4/6. Unlike the Swiss locomotives, they were designed not for alternating current but for the Dutch DC network. Originally intended for express train service between the major Dutch cities, they were used almost exclusively for freight operations between 1948 and 1982. Of the ten locomotives built, only 1010 has been preserved and can be seen at the Railway Museum in Utrecht.
Digitally switchable cab and engine room lighting via retrofit with a digital decoder | Two metal pantographs | Accurate livery and lettering | The locomotive features a PluX22 interface and is prepared for easy retrofit with sound and a maximum-size speaker.
